Outstanding WW2 German Kreigsmarine 10.5 cm Shell as used on Uboats and German Battleships
Now this is something very special, its a superb 10.5cm Complete shell that was used on many German Uboats and Battleships.
This very large shell is in excellent condition, the Fuse is dated 1944, the shell is batch number 5969 and the shell case is dated 1942. It strips down as it should and is totally inert.
The shell has plenty of correct markings and the shell case is stencilled. See pictures.
The 10.5 cm SK C/32 was the standard low-angle deck gun mounted forward of the conning tower in type 1, type 1X, and type X Uboats. The Ubts LC/32 mounting used in type I and early type IX U-boats weighed about 5 tonnes. Later type IX and type XB U-boats used the lighter Ubts LC/36 mounting with a maximum elevation of +30° . During the early war years, these guns were used to encourage surrender of independently routed merchant ships or to sink ships damaged by torpedoes.
A truly original and rare shell, you will not find another in such an outstanding condition.
All inert Ordnance sold by Vigo Militaria and Collectables are inert and Free From Explosives (FFE).
