The Beretta Model 1934, commonly called the M34, was one of the most recognisable Italian military pistols of the Second World War. Manufactured by Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta in Gardone Val Trompia, northern Italy, it became a standard sidearm of the Royal Italian Army and was widely used throughout the war by Germany and Italy.

Development and adoption

1934: The pistol was introduced as Beretta developed a compact military sidearm.

1935–1936: Early examples were supplied to Italian police, followed by military adoption and procurement.

1937–1938: The first major Army deliveries included a batch of approximately 150,000 pistols.

1940–1943: Large-scale production continued as Italy fought alongside Germany and its other Axis partners.

1943–1945: Following Italy's armistice in September 1943, German forces occupied parts of Italy and took control of some arms production. Beretta M34 pistols were subsequently supplied to German forces.

All deactivated weapons sold by Vigo Militaria and Collectables are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
