This is a cracking piece, its a WW1 Trench Art Candle Holder made from a British 4.5 inch Howitzer Shell Case.
Dated 1916 and with loads of WW1 stamps on the base this item would have been made by a German POW or more likely a British Soldier in the trenches, hence the name Trench Art.
It is really well made, the craftsmanship is excellent and it measures 5.5 inches width by 3 inches tall and its heavy.
A really nice piece to add to your collection.
