Here is something truly rare and special!
This is an original D-Day USA French liberation flag. This flag would have been made by the French and/or French resistance to welcome the liberators during the D-Day period in 1944.
It was found in Carentan where it had been hanging since WW2 which is why the blue has faded see pictures.
We picked it at Maisy Battery in Normandy who told us where it was found. See last picture.
It is a correct 48 Star flag, the pole has been shortened at some point. It measures 36 inches x 28 inches.
